Carrots are edible tap roots which grow below the surface of soil. They are orange to yellow in colour and are long, slender with one end tapering or pointed. It is believed that carrots originated in Afghanistan. They best way to consume them is in salads in its raw form for maximum benefits. They are crunchy in their raw form and is sweet in taste with a hint of minty flavour. It can also be cooked in form of vegetables, soups or curries and can also be prepared into sweet dishes such as gajar ka halwa or carrot cakes.
Raw uncooked carrots pack loads of vitamin A and beta carotene in them. This means they are a treat for your eyes and will keep your eyesight healthy.
They also provide calcium and vitamin K which is good for your bones and teeth.
Carrots also have potassium, phosphorous, manganese, zinc, copper etc.
Carrots also help with digestion and controls diabetes.
All our carrots are produced organically and are free of any hazardous chemicals. Vegetables are mostly harvested on the same date of delivery.
Storage – shelf life
Carrots should be stored in a container or plastic bags. Place them wrapped in plastic bags or containers in refrigerators and they will remain fresh upto 3 weeks.
